Woman gives birth during street festival and leaves the baby to die as she parties on

This is the shocking moment a woman gives birth during a street festival before leaving her baby to die so she can continue partying.

CCTV footage captures the mother – who had been celebrating the Songkran Festival in Bangkok – delivering the child in a car park and walking away as though nothing had happened.

In the grainy video, the woman, 27, named by police as Piyathida, appears to be doubled over in pain as she staggers around with her hands on her hips.

She can be seen pulling down her trousers and squatting next to a parked car before leaving something behind some potted plants.

Piyathida then slowly limps away and returns to the festival outside Rotsarin Village in Bangkok’s Don Mueang district on April 14.

Later on in the 6-minute footage, a group of bystanders could be seen looking around the area the baby was discovered.

Although the baby was found alive and resuscitation efforts were made, tragically, it could not be saved.

Piyathida was reportedly seen splashing water with friends nearby while visibly bleeding from her legs.

When confronted, she initially denied being the child’s mother but later confessed and was rushed to hospital.

The area where the baby was abandoned had blood on the walls and plants, local media reported.

During police questioning, Piyathida, who was reportedly under the influence of alcohol, said she had two other children and two ex-husbands.

Both children are now under the care of her former partners’ relatives.

However, the police could not question her further as she is still receiving treatment in the hospital.

Superintendent Phuwadon Aoonpho of Don Mueang Police Station identified the woman as 27-year-old Piyathida.

He confirmed that authorities had not yet been able to formally question her, as she remains hospitalised due to significant blood loss.

He assured the public she will be held accountable for her actions.

Her 20-year-old friend, Am, told the media that she decided to cut ties with Piyathida due to her cruelty.

Am, who noticed that Piyaditha was pregnant, asked if she was sure about joining the Songkran festival given her condition.

But, according to local media, Piyaditha claimed that she was just gaining weight.
