White Lotus star Aimee Lou Wood breaks down in tears as she’s seen for the first time since SNL’s ‘mean and unfunny’ skit about her teeth was praised by co-star Walton Goggins amid ‘feud’

White Lotus star Aimee Loud Wood appeared to broke down in tears and was comforted by a pal as she was seen for the first time since co-star Walton Goggins defended SNL‘s ‘mean and unfunny’ skit about her teeth amid their rumoured feud.

The British actress, 31, was spotted making her way along the street in London on Monday as she seemingly wiped away tears and was overcome with emotion.

Fans and loved ones have been rallying around her in recent days in wake of the skit – dubbing her ‘beautiful’ and blasting the ‘bullying’.

Aimee, who publicly hit out at the show for the sketch that featured Sarah Sherman wearing huge prosthetic teeth while parodying her, kept a low profile beneath a baseball cap which she teamed with a long burgundy leather coat and jeans.

She was joined by fellow actor and co-creator of new sitcom Film Club, Ralph Davis who was on hand to offer support.

Ralph listened intently as Aimee sobbed and after wrapping his arms around her they headed to a nearby cafe.

On Sunday, her on-screen love interest Goggins shared a since-deleted post to his Instagram Stories praising a sketch.

The actor, 53, raved that the sketch was a ‘SMASHING’ success, and he included a message for Jon Hamm, who appeared in the sketch as Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

‘Jon I knew I was miscast,’ he wrote to the Mad Men star, who imbued the vaccine-skeptic politician with some of his White Lotus character Rick’s personality.

Goggins went so far as to also comment ‘Hahahahahhahaha Amazzzingggg’ on the official SNL Instagram account, according to Page Six.

His shocking reaction to the sketch that offended his costar comes amid rumors swirling within fan circles claiming that he and Wood are feuding.

Fans have cited the Justified star’s once-effusive praise for his costar, which mysteriously dried up as the White Lotus was wrapping up its third season.

Since then, fans have even noticed that the two stars no longer follow each other on Instagram, and Goggins appeared to have tagged several of his co-stars in behind-the-scenes photos he posted from the series — except for Wood, whom he shared many of his scenes with.

Although Aimee doesn’t appear to follow Walton’s personal account, she still follows his eyeglasses page, Goggle Glasses

On Reddit, users struggled to understand why Goggins and Wood didn’t follow each other, with one person writing, ‘I feel like no one is talking about the falling out of them?’.

‘They unfollowed each other on insta a couple weeks ago, walton posts white lotus stuff and tags everyone in the photos except aimee lou wood, posts a whole tribute to white lotus and still doesn’t tag her, posts tons of pictures of her on his story in a commemorative tribute to the show. what happened?’

The user added, ‘They used to idolize each other and talk about each other in such positive light in interviews and such, it’s so weird that all of a sudden there’s this switch up?’

Another X user wrote in amazement: ‘aimee lou wood follows 5,160 people on instagram and none of them are walton goggins…’

On X, one viewer weighed in on an album of behind-the-scenes photos Walton had posted to Instagram.

‘Walton Goggins not tagging Aimee but tagging everyone else… WHAT HAPPENED,’ they wrote.

Particularly perplexing to some fans was how Walton had apparently posted a sweet — and extensive — set of photos of himself and Aimee to his Instagram Stories.

‘Obsessed with walton goggins posting an 18 slide instagram story of photos of him and aimee lou wood set to silver springs by fleetwood mac….’ one X user wrote in astonishment.

Several others were surprised by the same set of posts and just how long the display of photos of the two actors went on.

But music critic Carl Wilson offered a more measured take.

‘Everyone on here reading tea leaves on Walton Goggins & Aimee Lou Wood clearly has never met actors, who are constantly emotionally over the top with each other, until they move on to their next job and don’t even keep in touch,’ he wrote.

Walton has been married to director Nadia Conners since 2011. His previous wife, Leanne Goggins, died by suicide in 2004.

The actor’s praise for the SNL sketch appears to be particularly ill-timed, as the iconic sketch-comedy series has reportedly issued an apology to Wood after she slammed its ‘mean’ sketch that mocked her teeth.

On Sunday night, the White Lotus star shared a series of posts condemning the sketch show after Sarah Sherman wore huge prosthetic teeth — which dwarfed her own teeth — to parody her.

In response to being mocked on the show, the Sex Education star took to her Instagram Story to slam SNL and address rumors about HBO

After the actress went viral for her takedown of the ‘mean and unfunny’ skit, she claimed that SNL had reached out to extend an olive branch.

Alongside a selfie distorted to make her eyes and mouth larger, she penned: ‘I’ve had apologies from SNL’.

In the sketch, named The White Potus, it imagined the Trump family and various political figures on holiday at the famous retreat.

Goggins’ character Rick was reimagined as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. who was seen on a rambling rant debating they take ‘all the fluoride out of the water’.

The camera then cut to Aimee’s character Chelsea – played by Sarah – with exaggerated buck teeth, who exclaimed: ‘Fluoride? What’s that?’

In response, Aimee took aim at the ‘cheap’ joke, as she wrote: ‘Such a shame cuz I had such a great time watching it a couple weeks ago. Yes, take the p**s for sure – that’s what the show is about – but there must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way?’

She also shared messages of support from her followers and sister Emily, admitting she’d received ‘thousands’ of messages backing her up.

Aimee continued: ‘Last thing I’ll say on the matter. I am not thin skinned. I actually love being taken the p**s out of when it’s clever and in good spirits. But the joke was about fluoride. I have big gap teeth not bad teeth.

‘I don’t mind caricature – I understand that’s what SNL is. But the rest of the skit was punching up and I/ Chelsea was the only one punched down On… Okay end of.’

To conclude, she shared a comment from a fan that read: ‘It was a sharp and funny skit until it suddenly took a screeching turn into 1970’s misogyny’, she added: ‘This sums up my view’.

Earlier in the day, Aimee shared more thoughts on the matter, admitting: ‘Whilst in honest mode – I did find the SNL thing mean and unfunny,’ she told her followers.

After noting she was feeling ‘righteous’ but ‘might delete’ her post later, fans encouraged her not to remove it.

‘Don’t delete it, one comment read. ‘It was mean and unfunny and saying it out loud removes their power.

‘You’re unreal in every way, I have a big gap in my teeth and an overbite and you’ve genuinely made me feel so much better about myself.

‘I was going to spend thousands on fixing it all which I’m not doing now because I look at you and think how gorgeous you look so why not try and apply that logic to myself,’ they concluded.

Another commenter wrote, ‘I agree- everyone else in that parody was a political figure who was being mocked.

‘The only character who wasn’t political was Chelsea, and they were clearly just taking the piss out of your appearance/accent, which is extremely c***y and uncalled for.’

Earlier, she clarified that ‘nobody at HBO called’ her ‘ugly.’

‘That was my own paranoid thought’ she explained, referring to a recent interview, which she says was misconstrued.

The star continued: ‘Nobody at HBO would say that. My point in the article was about how our mind plays tricks on us. Please read carefully before getting angry for me.’

‘So to conclude today’s rant: @hbo – kind and supportive and never wronged me so leave them alone. @nbcsnl – mean.’

MailOnline has contacted NBC for comment.

She insisted HBO had been ‘super supportive’ but she was suffering from ‘imposter syndrome’

In a recent interview with British GQ, Aimee explained that White Lotus creator Mike White had to ‘fight’ to cast her, which made her feel insecure.

She continued: ‘When someone (not a producer) told me Mike fought for me it was said in a nice way.

‘I just spiraled about it because of my own imposter syndrome. That was my point. Just really wanted to clear that up because hbo have been nothing but super supportive.

In the GQ article, Aimee dove into the insecurity, saying, ‘My little head goes: “HBO didn’t want me. And I know why HBO didn’t want me, it’s because I’m ugly.”‘

‘Mike had to say, “Please let me have the ugly girl!” That was the thing that was in my head,’ she continued.

Elsewhere in the interview, Aimee spoke about the interest in her natural overbite and gapped buck teeth, which she worried had progressed to the point that it was stealing attention from her performance.

She worried that her teeth were now seen by some White Lotus fans as something ‘goofy’ that she hadn’t yet had ‘fixed.’

‘It makes me really happy that it’s symbolizing rebellion and freedom, but there’s a limit,’ she said.

‘The whole conversation is just about my teeth, and it makes me a bit sad because I’m not getting to talk about my work.

‘They think it’s nice because they’re not criticizing,’ she said of those focused on her smile, before pausing and suggesting that the whole discussion might be tied in with sexism.

‘And, I have to go there… I don’t know if it was a man would we be talking about it this much? It’s still going on about a woman’s appearance,’ she added.

Aimee has been praised online for leaving her buck teeth natural, instead of caving into the artificial beauty standards of Hollywood.

During an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, the actress marveled: ‘I can’t believe the impact my teeth are having. Americans can’t get over them.

‘Even the way White Lotus fans are talking about me and my teeth — that I don’t have veneers or Botox — it feels a bit rebellious.’
