The ‘worst hotel’ in Benidorm, where the popular ITV comedy series was filmed is getting a fancy new pool makeover.
Known as Sol Pelicanos Ocas, the hotel was the staple filming location during the ITV show’s 10 year duration.
The three-star resort is already a hit with fans of the programme and tourists alike.
But it’s now undergoing a modern transformation, starting with the pool, reports What’s The Jam.
In a clip, which has racked up over 374,000 views and thousands of likes, the swimming pool is shown entirely off limits.
The floor has been removed, as well as all the furniture.
And piles of bricks, rubble, pipes and fencing are scattered around.
The refurbishment has been ongoing since November 2024 and is due to be completed on 11 April 2025.

In another video showing the refurbishment, a TikTok user called ‘JoeCooper9120’ says: ‘Nice to see a second pool in this area, it definitely needed it.’
While another commenter, ‘Karenbakeer6548’ says: ‘Hope I don’t get a room facing on to that.’
The hotel currently has five outdoor pools, including two children’s pools.
