Wayne Rooney risks on the spot fine as he’s caught urinating in public during night out in London

Wayne Rooney was caught short when he was spotted urinating in public yesterday after a night out in London.

The former England captain and Manchester United striker was seen leaning against a wall and relieving himself.

The 39-year-old appeared to be out with friends as they spent some hours at The Nest rooftop bar in Marylebone.

The group then went for another round at Novikov in Mayfair, reportedly leaving at around 2am.

But Met Police informed MailOnline that no complaints about the footballer’s behaviour were reported.

Images show the Ex-Plymouth Argyle club manager beaming as he strides past the camera in a black suit.

He is pictured laughing in the centre of a group of friends, who tap him affectionately  on the shoulder.

As the football legend urinates, he is seen holding his phone unusually close to his face, its screen shining.

MailOnline has contacted Rooney’s representatives for comment.

This is not Rooney’s first brush with public urination. In 2013, he was snapped apparently relieving himself against a bin on Manchester’s Dalton St.

But the millionaire, then aged 24, did not face prosecution as no witnesses came forward to report him.

People who have urinated in public can currently only face prosecution if caught in the act by officers or if complaints are made.

Urinating in public can be considered a crime in the UK, potentially leading to fines or even prosecution according to circumstances and council bylaws.

Westminster City Council, the governing local body where Rooney was caught on camera, issues fines of £1,000 for public urination, according to its X page.

Rooney is still active in the football world, having recently offered his expertise on the FA Cup quarter-final.

During the BBC’s coverage of the sporting event, broadcaster Gary Lineker revealed that Rooney is terrified of fish.

‘It wasn’t the most compelling first half,’ Lineker said of the match. ‘But what we did learn earlier was that Wayne Rooney is scared of fish.’

‘It’s the big fish,’ Rooney quickly clarified. ‘I do like fish.’
