Ding Junhui wasn’t expected to beat Mark Williams, but thrashed him 10-3.
Nor was he expected to beat Kyren Wilson but thrashed him 10-5.
In the last four, he meets Mark Selby, who clattered Neil Robertson 10-1, in what should be a terrific contest.

Wilson said: “I’m disappointed. But I’ve been exhausted.
“At the same time I’ve been practising well. Congratulations to Ding.
“But yeah. I feel like if I’d gone deep in this I might have burnt myself out.”

After a mini fightback effort from Wilson, Ding pockets the brown and sets up a semi-final clash against Mark Selby.
