The surprising secret weapon Sabrina Carpenter uses to ooze sex appeal & it’s nothing to do with her raunchy outfits

WITH her saucy song lyrics, raunchy outfits, ‘x-rated’ dance moves and incredible singing talent, there are endless reasons why Sabrina Carpenter is one of the world’s most talked-about pop acts.

There’s no denying the gifted Espresso singer, 25, always looks incredible and knows how to put on a show – even when raising (more than) a few eyebrows along the way.

And it’s all paying off, with Sabrina now one of the biggest popstars in the world with an estimated net worth of £9.2million.

But while it appears the former child star is courting controversy by walking a fine line between “porn” and pop with her performances, experts believe she knows exactly what she’s doing.

In fact, creating ‘outrage’ could well be the key to her phenomenal success, including a double win at the Grammys earlier this year.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Brand and Culture expert Nick Ede says: “Sabrina knows that sex sells – and so does her team.

“She may be causing complaints but it’s nothing new and it’s a tried and tested formula that’s been used since pop music began.”

However, there’s also a far more subtle feature Sabrina herself credits as being a “big part” of her identity that also attracts attention… her flattering fringe and versatile hair.

And it’s a look easily created at home, too.

Celebrity hair stylist Nicholas James says: “Sabrina’s bombshell hair speaks for itself, demanding attention on the red carpet.

“Her wispy curtain fringe harmonises her overall look, beautifully accentuating her features and framing her face.

“Her hair has been a cultural reset – and her big, bouncy, beautiful blonde hair has been giving everyone serious hair envy.

“The reason being that [her style] merges her innate playfully sweet essence with her elegant, sultry look.”

‘Pin-up girl aesthetic’

It comes as no surprise then that the starlet was announced as hair brand Redken’s first ever global ambassador last September.

“Beauty and especially my hair is a big part of my identity,” she commented as she launched the partnership.

“I’ve always dreamed of partnering with a hair brand and waited to find the right partner.

“It’s been the secret to keeping my hair looking its best and I can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on together.”

Victoria Lynch, hair extensions expert and founder of Remi Cachet, adds: “Sabrina Carpenter’s hair is the ultimate look for vintage ’70s glamour—full of bounce, movement, and high shine.

“Her signature rounded fringe and bouncy blow dry give her that playful, pin-up girl aesthetic.”

Want to recreate Sabrina’s signature style at home? Here celebrity stylist Nicholas James shares his top tips and product recommendations…

TOP TIPS

  • Bouncy bangs – When it comes to achieving Sabrina’s bouncy, bombshell fringe – the secret is in how you blow-dry the hair. Sabrina’s wispy feathered fringe is on the longer side, so I’d recommend using a large round brush to shape the fringe and inject extra volume. Blowdry the fringe back and forth away from the root, then back and forth to get it sitting perfectly central. If you’re wanting mirror her exaggerated inward curl at the end of her fringe, then go in with a curl tong for added definition and that gorgeous sweep.
  • Get the right cut – Sabrina Carpenter’s iconic fringe is a long wispy curtain fringe that can be styled in so many ways, with the perfect length skimming just above the eyebrows and blending seamlessly with the rest of the layers. This low-maintenance fringe is so easy to style at home – adding an extra touch of elegance to both hair-up and hair down looks.
  • A word of warning – If you’re looking to recreate Sabrina’s signature fluffy fringe, then be sure to consult with your stylist on whether this style would suit your face shape first. They’ll be the best person to analyse what will suit your face shape and hair type and texture. Sabrina has an oval face shape face which is the golden ticket for suiting almost any hair style. If you have a diamond face shape, then curtain bangs may not be the best option to flatter slender chin and forehead. Instead, I’d recommend longer face-framing bangs that skim your jawline. This will balance you features and still allow you to achieve that volumised movement and texture.
  • Deep condition – The condition of Sabrina’s hair is a focal point of her look – her hair looks like it’s almost gleaming with health! Deep conditioning treatments are supposedly a regular occurrence in Miss Carpenter’s beauty regime, so I’d recommend investing in a good hair mask that will boost the hair’s vibrancy and shine.

Delicate facial features

As well as her hair and professional success – including a string of hit singles and a collection of awards under her belt (she won best pop album at this year’s Grammys) – Sabrina is also constantly complimented for her overall beauty.

And it’s not hard to see why, with the star always looking immaculate, whether she’s on stage or on the red carpet.

Amish Patel, Award-Winning Aesthetics Practitioner & Skincare Expert at Intrigue Cosmetic Clinic says: “Sabrina has a very desirable sweetheart facial shape and balanced symmetry in her facial proportions with large open eyes.

“Her lips are full without dominating her delicate features, and she has full and defined apple cheeks with a high bone structure.”

Dr. Ducu is founder and medical director of Dr Ducu Clinics.

He says: “Sabrina Carpenter embodies the classic features that many consider conventionally attractive big, expressive eyes, a delicate nose, and full lips, all framed by a symmetrical face.

“Her youthful, doll-like appearance gives her a universally appealing look, which is often associated with the ‘golden ratio’ of facial symmetry.

“This balance and proportion are key factors in what makes a face aesthetically pleasing.

“Sabrina’s high cheekbones and softly contoured jawline also contribute to an elegant and harmonious facial structure.”

The ‘golden ratio’

There’s actually a scientific reason why Sabrina is perceived to be so beautiful, known as the ‘golden ratio’ – a mathematical principle relating to proportions often used to analyse facial beauty.

Consultant Facial Plastic Surgeon Mr Anil Joshi adds: “I often assess attractiveness through the lens of symmetry and the golden ratio.

“Sabrina, with her large eyes, high cheekbones, and full lips exemplifies these features.”

People innately find facial symmetry appealing because it signals genetic health.

“Sabrina’s large eyes are striking, we will subconsciously associate them with youth and femininity, while her high cheekbones enhance the definition and contour of her face.

“This achieves a highly desirable V-shape. Her impressive full lips convey femininity and are linked with vitality and attractiveness as well.

“Together, these elements align closely with what we call golden ratio, nature’s magical mathematical principle, it delineates beauty.”

Refreshing tip

While she’s lucky enough to be a natural beauty, that’s not to say Sabrina doesn’t put the work in with a good routine to keep her skin glowing – and she credits one super simple and affordable product for keeping her looking refreshed.

Speaking to The Strategist, she says: “Whenever I’m tired or my skin doesn’t feel super great, I love rose-water spray’ as a quick refresher.

It smells really good. I use it on the plane, and I have one in my car as well.

When I’m in the studio or on set it’s so easy for me to get tired, so this also wakes me up.

It’s really great for sensitive skin, and it’s never made my makeup run.

Courting controversy… and why not?

Whatever Sabrina does right now, it seems she knows how to ensure all eyes are firmly on her, and it’s a strategy experts predict is set to skyrocket her into the illustrious pop hall of fame, alongside the likes of Madonna and Cher.

Brand and Culture expert Nick adds: “She’s courting controversy at the moment with her x-rated performances and saucy lyrics.

“But she’s walking a path that many pop stars have trodden previously – creating a controversial persona whilst always in control of the narrative.

“And female pop stars have always used their sexuality to create headline moments.

MadonnaBritneyChristina, Grace Jones and even Cher have worn sexy clothing to bring all the attention to them – and if it works then why not?”
