Terrifying moment hooded thugs attack man with axe and machete in east London park

A man was subjected to a terrifying attack by a hooded gang of axe and machete thugs in an east London park yesterday.

Footage shows the trio dressed in tracksuits and balaclavas as they surround their victim in broad daylight in Poplar, Tower Hamlets, yesterday afternoon.

Before long the male is forced to the floor and is violently lashed at by the attackers.

The victim pulls out his mobile phone following the stabbing as a group of passersby make their way towards him.

One of the men can be seen walking away carrying an axe in his right hand.

A Met Police spokesman said: ‘On Wednesday, 26 March at 17:45hrs police were called to Pennyfields Park, Poplar following reports of a stabbing.

‘Police attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service who treated a boy for stab wounds.

‘He was taken to a near-by hospital, where his injuries were later confirmed to be non-life changing/threatening.

Earlier this year, a manhunt was launched after a 14-year-old schoolboy was stabbed to death on a London bus.

The boy was knifed on January 7 in front of horrified passengers on board a route 472 red double decker bus in Woolwich, in what was described by Scotland Yard as a ‘horrendous crime’.

Since then, other instances of stabbings caught on camera in London have included a grappling match in Carshalton in broad daylight and another, also stabbed during the day, being left to helplessly pour out blood on the street.
