Stephanie Davis has revealed her two-month-old son Samuel was rushed to hospital on Monday after he ‘stopped breathing’.
The Coronation Street star, 32, described the ordeal as ‘the scariest time of my life’ as she told her social media followers what happened.
Stephanie said Samuel, who she shares with boyfriend Joe McKalory, suffered ‘three episodes’ and so was taken to hospital.
She wrote: ‘I just want to say a massive thank you to Whiston hospital, the staff on the high dependency unit and the staff on the ward for looking after our baby boy and for helping me take him to the hospital and keeping me as calm as she could after what’s been the scariest time of my life.
‘On Monday Samuel stopped breathing and had 3 scary episodes. I’ve felt totally helpless & powerless the past few days.’
Stephanie described how Samuel was then given a lumbar puncture, a medical procedure where a thin needle is inserted into the lower back to collect a sample of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), the fluid that surrounds the brain and spinal cord, for analysis.

The procedure didn’t work so he was then given a head and lung scans and also had to have cannulas inserted into his veins.
She wrote: ‘He’s endured 2 lumbar punctures which unfortunately didn’t work & had a bloody tap, a head scan, lung scan & I can’t count how many Cannulas he’s had to have put in and out plus the resf.
‘He’s had the full works and every antibiotic to make sure he’s ok. It’s been an absolutely horrendous & traumatic time & completely powerless watching him go through so much pain but I know they have done everything they can to make sure he’s ok.’
Stephanie told how she was feeling ‘mentally and physically drained’ after the terrifying ordeal.
She wrote: ‘The whole time I have thought about those mums who have poorly babies in hospital for a long time and I honestly don’t know how you do it as I’m mentally and physically drained already my anxiety is through the roof think I’ve gone into autopilot now.
‘I’ve thought about Amy so much these past few days. I’m So grateful for the NHS & how utterly amazing and caring the staff have been.
‘Now to be there for him these next few days and look forward to getting him home when we can. ♥️’
Along with Samuel, Stephanie is also mother to seven-year-old son Caben who she had with her ex Jeremy McConnell.

For her pregnancy announcement she shared a video with Joe sitting on the beach as they handed Caben a bag which had a T-shirt saying ‘big brother’ inside and a picture of her scan
She explained that she and Joe had been trying to conceive for two years and were even exploring IVF, before falling pregnant naturally.
Stephanie told OK!: ‘I did the pregnancy test at my mother-in-law’s. I could not believe it. I’ve done a million tests over the past two years and videoed them – the one time I didn’t, it was positive!’.
She went on to recall how she and Joe, who she met in a group therapy session in 2021, were left ‘sobbing’ after a scan revealed they were excepting a baby boy.
She recalled: ‘Joe never cries, so when he started that set me off. We were just sobbing on each other. Then the nurse in the room started crying, too.’
She added that Caben is also ready for the role of big brother and is already telling his mum how to sit in a bit not to ‘squash the baby’.
Recalling telling him the news during a family holiday, she said: ‘He was adorable. We took a video, and it’s so cute watching a little seven-year-old process that he’s getting a sibling.
‘He points at me and goes, “Is that why you’ve got a lump in your tummy?” It was just beautiful, the three of us on the beach’.
She later shared a video of the heartwarming moment, with her and Joe seen sitting on the beach as they handed Caben a bag which had a T-shirt saying ‘big brother’ inside and a picture of her scan.
The youngster jumped to his feet with excitement and threw sand into the air as he ran around before cosying up to Stephanie to take a look at the scan picture.

Caben then went onto ask: ‘how do you get a baby?’ causing the couple to laugh before he added: ‘So that’s why you have a big lump’.
The actress then looked emotional as her little boy quickly leaned in and kissed her growing baby bump.
