Schoolboy, 16, arrested over ‘murder’ of elderly couple killed in horror house fire – The Sun

A SCHOOLBOY, 16, has been arrested on suspicion of murder after an elderly couple were killed in a horror house fire.

Emergency services were called to a property in Heron Close, Alton, Hampshire, at 4am on Monday, April 14.

Officers found a man in his 90s and a woman in her 80s who were pronounced dead at the scene.

A 16-year-old boy, from Alton, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

He remains in police custody.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said: “An investigation is under way alongside Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service to determine the cause of the fire and establish the circumstances of what took place.

“As part of our investigation, officers have arrested a 16-year-old boy from Alton on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody at this time.

“We would like to speak to anyone who may have information that could assist with our inquiries.

“Did you witness anyone behaving suspiciously in the area between midnight and 5am?

“Do you have any CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage which may show anyone behaving suspiciously in the area around this time?”
