A stunning ‘off-grid’ home with sea views and its own private beach had gone on sale for £395,000.
The five-bedroom property, called Doune Bay Lodge, is perched on the peninsula of Knoydart, in the Scottish Highlands, and offers breathtaking views over the Sound of Sleat to the Isle of Skye.
The home, which looks like something straight out of a romance novel, is set within two acres of its own land.
Inside, the property has large floor to ceiling windows, five en-suite bedrooms, a modern kitchen, open-plan living and dining area, an elevated outside decking space and its own boathouse.
However the poetic property is only accessible by ferry followed by a 5.5 mile drive, then a half a mile walk.
Although there is an option to buy your own boat to get on and off the island easily. The current owner’s 10m coded faster charter boat, dingy, 8-seater car and quad are all also available to buy with the home by further negotiation.
The recently renovated property, comes with solar panels and a micro hydro system, which is a renewable energy source that uses flowing water to generate electricity.
And for those who wanted family close by, the neighbouring property Dun Ban, is additionally available for sale.

Selling agents Savills have described the location as ‘rare experience to own not only a beautiful property but a way of life.’
The property recently caught the attention of Reddit users with some saying it would be their ‘dream home’ while other were worried about the same thing.
One person said: ‘I’ve actually stayed there! Beautiful place. Midges are savage though!’
Another added: ‘The midges in the western highlands are no joke! We left the west coast and moved to the east coast to get away from them, my poor dogs wouldn’t even go outside in the summer.’
Someone else added: ‘They’re savage haha . I live on the east coast too . Generally midgie free thankfully.’
Another added: ‘I have a theory that climate change will kill the midges and the Western Highlands and Islands will become one of the most desirable locations in Europe’
A fifth added: ‘Beautiful imagery. Beautiful. Almost poetic.’
It comes after a bizarre bungalow went up for sale in Barnsley for £400,000 – with the interior designed to ‘look like a Wetherspoons’.

If that wasn’t intriguing enough, the property comes with its own private cove on the Western shore of the Knoydart peninsula

The property has modern kitchen, open-plan living and dining area (pictured) an elevated outside decking space and its own boathouse
The property was decorated to look like the inside of a pub – complete with bar, red carpet and even a pool table.
The home, up for sale on the popular estate agent website Rightmove, was spotted by TikTok creator Housing Horrors.
In a video posted on the social media platform, he took his followers through the bizarre property, noting the strange living room area, the old-fashioned kitchen and the 70s-style bathroom.
He said: ‘The interior of this house looks like a Wetherspoons, check this out.
‘This is a four bed bungalow in Barnsley going for £400,000. This is the outside and you’re not going to be ready for the inside, wait for it.
‘So, here we’ve got the living room but they’ve actually converted it in to a fully blown bar. If I saw this photo out of context, I would genuinely believe it was a small little Wetherspoons in a village or a little town or something.’
The TikTok user was shocked by the extent of the transformation and noted the impressive bar complete with bar stools, shelves full of bottles, and even plastic beer mats.
In the corner of the room was a pool table with plush leather chairs surrounding it, while the walls were decorated with strange wallpaper and mouldings, and the carpet looked like it could have come straight out of a pub (or a stately home).
He continued: ‘They’ve got the full shebang. They’ve got beer on tap, they’ve got the whole lot going on. Believe it or not they’ve even got a pool table in the corner.
‘Those carpets are very very reminiscent of Wetherspoons, I’m pretty sure they are going to be very very sticky.’
The video then turned to one of two kitchens and showed a very dark room with ox blood red tiles, dark wood furniture and a white Aga.
The man commented: ‘Weirdly enough the kitchen even looks a little bit like a Wetherspoons. It does look very unusual, very old school.
‘Here we’ve got another angle of it and those kitchen tiles are the sort of tiles you’d have in a Wetherspoons kitchen.’
Pictures on Rightmove show a second kitchen which is much more modern with white counters and cupboards, and a modern oven off a smaller living room with high-backed dark brown sofas and lighter patterned carpets.
Also in the bungalow was a beige bathroom complete with a discoloured bath and sink, floor to ceiling patterned tiles, and a matching beige carpet, while a rocking chair faced the bath next to a radiator.
Housing Horrors couldn’t believe the room and said: ‘This is the absolute icing on the cake for me. Obviously this isn’t Wetherspoons related but look at the 70s-style bathroom people.
‘That is absolutely insane. You never really see these kinds of bathrooms. I feel like this bathroom really needs to be in a museum or something because in 20, 30 years time we are never really going to see bathrooms like this.’
He then moved on to the bedrooms where one was filled with dark wood furniture, a plain double bed and a red and brown patterned carpet. Peeking out at the top of the photos was dark brown panelling on the ceiling.
Another smaller bedroom was painted white, and had a cream carpet, while a third had laminate flooring and seemed to look out over a garden.
‘Here we’ve got the bedrooms and maybe if Wetherspoons did B&Bs or something, this is what it would look like,’ he said.
The listing online reads: ‘A truly unique four bedroom, dormer bungalow, in a highly sought after location within close proximity of Locke Park and the M1 motorway’.
It called the bungalow ‘deceptively spacious’ and noted its three bathrooms, two kitchens and ‘a bar area ideal for entertaining’.
