He was this week revealed to be Slimming World’s Greatest Loser 2025, an award for the member with the biggest weight loss across the organisation’s 13,000 groups.

Kenny, 48, was 34st 7lb when he collapsed in a supermarket while shopping with six-year-old daughter Hope in Blackpool in 2023.

Doctors warned he was in danger of a fatal heart attack due to his obesity.

During three weeks in intensive care, Kenny even recorded a goodbye message for loved-ones.

He was encouraged to return to Slimming World — where he had lost 17st in 2015 before piling it back on — by a friend.

He now tips the scales at 12st 7lb.

Kenny, who has two daughters, said: “By some miracle, I managed to pull through — this was the wake-up call I needed to make a change.

“I wanted to be the best dad I could be for my children.

“And now I can be the version they deserve.”
