A former Come Dine With Me contestant has claimed he was ‘robbed’ and said bosses cut a shocking injury from the show.
The iconic Channel 4 cooking programme features four or five members of the public as they host dinner parties and score each other’s meals over the course of a week in a bid to win £1,000.
One participant, James Stevens, 58, has shared his experience from when he appeared on the show back in 2012.
While Nadine Leese won during his week, James revealed he felt the quality of the food served up didn’t impact who won, according to the Express.
The film and TV lecturer told the publication: ‘I’m definitely robbed, if you watch the episode, everybody that I’ve ever spoken to and has seen it said, ‘You should have won that’.
‘I thought it was about making food. Well maybe it isn’t. It’s more about tactics and game playing behind the scenes.’

James went on to add that there was even an incident that didn’t make it to television screens.
He claimed that during Nadine’s night, the dessert broke someone’s tooth.
‘She won, even though one of her biscuits bust one of the the contestant’s teeth on camera. Her cookie was that hard that it broke someone’s tooth,’ the academic explained.
James alleged that contestant Stephan’s tooth ‘broke in half’ and though it was filmed, wasn’t used in the episode and said ‘I’m not baffled by it because history is written by the victors’.
He also claimed that another moment – where the group drank together, including the crew, and had a ‘proper party’ – on the first evening didn’t make the cut either.
The academic recalled how he didn’t eat beforehand and was ‘absolutely starving’ by the time he arrived and was given champagne, and admitted ‘everybody was drunk that night, even the crew’.
James added that despite the edits, he felt he was made to come across well overall.
However he felt he was portrayed ‘to be some kind of debating political aficionado’ and clarified that he is not like that.

Another Come Dine With Me contestant, Garry Macdonald, spilled the beans on his experience on the Channel 4 show – revealing he won despite ‘being drunk all week’.
The reality star, 35, took home the prize after impressing with his lavish Ibiza Beach Club themed menu – with his co-star Saoirse praising his delicious cauliflower steak.
Yet, Garry candidly admitted he wasn’t sure how he seasoned the tasty meal since he was already ‘two bottles of Prosecco deep in’ at that point.
‘You know what’s funny, so many people have asked me for the menu for it and the recipe for the cauliflower steak. But I was two bottles of Prosecco in and I don’t even remember how to make it,’ he told The Sun.
