Girlfriend of British businessman, 47, who died on holiday in Morocco threatens to call the police as father demands to know where his son is buried

The girlfriend of a British businessman who died on holiday in Morocco has today broken her silence to lash out at his family who say they have been left in the dark over what happened.

Allen McKenna, 47, collapsed and died in Casablanca two months ago just hours after arriving there with Majda Mjaoual, 25, who is a partner in his security business.

Mr McKenna’s father, Alan Moorhead, says he received a video call from Ms Mjaoual on February 22 and could see his son’s body in the background but since then he has heard nothing from her.

He is said to have died after having a fatal heart attack, but his family say they were not able to obtain a death certificate or a coroner’s report.

He was reportedly buried two days after his death before his girlfriend is said to have flown to the UK to organise his affairs – but has not said where he was laid to rest.

Mr McKenna was from Harrogate, North Yorkshire, but studied at the University of South Australia, and when he died was running three British companies, including a brewery.

When contacted by MailOnline, Ms Mjaoual said she did not want to discuss a ‘personal matter’.

When asked if she had spoken to her partner’s father she said: ‘His father is harassing me and you don’t know what’s going on.’

Ms Mjaoual refused to reveal where she was and when asked if it was right Mr McKenna’s father didn’t know the circumstances of his son’s death or where he was buried, she said: ‘If his father wants to know anything he can use lawyers.’

‘I am getting the police involved, I’m sorry that’s all I’ve got to say,’ she added before hanging up.

The day before Allen died, Ms Mjaoual posted on her Instagram a clip of her arriving at Gatwick airport for an easyJet flight to Casablanca.

She captioned it: ‘That airport feeling especially when the destination is your home country,’ and she appeared happy and smiling.

It comes after Mr McKenna’s grieving family said they were desperately trying to find out where he is buried.

‘It’s soul destroying. I don’t know where to move, I don’t know what to do,’ a distraught Mr Moorhead told 9News.

‘He deserves better. He deserves to come back here to South Australia and then all the family can have closure.

‘It’s just unbelievable. She’s not answering any messages, phone calls, texts – nothing.

‘I just want my lad back.’

Mark Parsons, a close friend, also told 9News: ‘I still don’t want it to be true… I’ll never have a friend like Allen again.’

He added: ‘It’s essential… I need to be able to have a memorial with them, a funeral, a place to go visit.’

Social media posts show that Mr McKenna was also into bodybuilding and appeared to compete in competitions.

Mr Moorhead has been extremely vocal on Facebook as he demands answers over his son’s death.

He described himself as a ‘grieving father’ who is desperate to find out where his son has been buried in one post.

Mr Moorhead, who now lives in Adelaide, says he wants to bring his son home to Australia, where he grew up.

A spokesman for the Foreign Office told MailOnline: ‘We are supporting the family of a British man following his death in Morocco and are in contact with the local authorities.’

North Yorkshire Police, Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Interpol are also said to be investigating.
