David Hogg Turning Out to Be a Terrific Pick for DNC Vice Chair – HotAir

Oh, David Hogg – God bless his little pointy head bobbling along on a pencil neck, as it all wobbles precariously atop a sunken and concave chest cavity, with wee little stick arms and tiny fists thrusting into the air for balance.

He never stops delivering the goods.

Where once he was an annoying, precocious carnival act taking advantage of unspeakable tragedy, this past February, amid the ashes of the Coconut Queen’s election flameout, Hogg at last managed to maneuver his mouthy mediocrity onto a national stage and into a position of some political heft.

It has been a busy spring since winning the Democratic National Committee Vice Chair post, an event I can only attribute to the current state of Democratic Party upheaval and disarray, and, evidently, the overwhelming lack of a single, sane member.

Hogg’s ascension was the lunatic cherry on top of the DNC Crazy Town sundae – we all know who’s in charge of the asylum now.

It didn’t take the twee lad long to exercise his tremendous powers of persuasion. Two weeks after winning, DNC members were already being persuaded that this attention Hogg was a big mistake.

Some Democratic insiders are already expressing concerns over newly elected Democratic National Committee (DNC) Vice Chair David Hogg just two weeks into his tenure in leadership.

Hogg has already ruffled some feathers within the DNC for using the committee’s contact list to solicit donations for his own political action committee (PAC), Leaders We Deserve, according to a report from the New York Post.

“David Hogg here: I was just elected DNC Vice Chair! This is a huge win for our movement to make the Democratic Party more reflective of our base: youthful, energetic, and ready to win,” reads one of eight texts, which include solicitation links to “Leaders We Deserve,” sent out to a DNC database of phone numbers, according to the report.

The texts aren’t sitting well with some DNC insiders, who believe the committee’s vast database of numbers and donors should be used to help the future of the party, not a member’s individual PAC.

Some were questioning the wisdom of elevating a media-made creature of so little accomplishment, particularly at a time when the party was being held in so little regard.

…Hogg’s appointment to the party’s vice chair job at just 24 makes him arguably the most powerful Zoomer in the United States, but at least some members of the party were alarmed by his lack of experience and a long history of social media posts supporting far-left positions like defund the police and abolishing the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

I mean it’s just very frustrating to be in a party in desperate need of increased accountability for our struggling leadership, and watch someone who is never held accountable ascend to leadership,” said Cameron Kasky, a fellow Stoneman Douglas survivor.

Hogg’s newest adventure, his Leaders We Deserve PAC, and the one causing all the friction, has become his latest focal point. His previous enterprise, the anti-gun March for Our Lives has consequently fallen on hard times, as Hogg moves on to greener pastures and Trump’s reelection makes gun control issues less appealing to pursue.

They have announced hefty staff layoffs as fundraising stalls and donors disappear. It’s going to put a real crimp in their midterm gun-control advocacy agitating.

March for Our Lives, the gun control group formed by David Hogg following the Parkland shooting, is laying off the majority of its staff due to lack of funds.

Hogg appears to have shifted focus as the vice chair of the Democratic National Committee, meaning he probably has less time to chase after donors for gun control issues.

The group, which primarily targeted young Americans, initially attracted considerable media attention and a lot of money. However, interest began to wane, forcing the group to cut ties with 13 of its 16 full-time staffers.

…However, the firings are a significant setback for the group and will likely have negative consequences before next year’s midterm elections.

But, HO, BOY.

Vice Chair Hogg hasn’t lost a step guiding his DNC-funded personal PAC on the attack.

I can’t help but wonder what the geniuses who installed this Boy Wonder think of their brilliance now.

Do they call him Judas or Brutus?

Whatever names they settle on, I know damn well they’re calling the adorable tylke something scurrilous this morning as they wipe the coffee they spit out reading this off the floor and countertop.

How ’bout them apples?

The shrieky little self-absorbed man the DNC made an official Democratic Party ‘somebody’ in February is funding challenges to ‘safe,’ sitting Democratic incumbents, not two months later!

HOLY CRAP

I would have paid good money to see this internecine knife fight, but it’s all free!

Can you imagine?

David Hogg, a controversial Democratic National Committee vice chair, is pledging to upend Democratic primaries by funding candidates who will challenge “ineffective, asleep-at-the-wheel” Democrats.

The move puts Hogg, the now 25-year-old who first gained national stature as an outspoken survivor of the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting, on a collision course with his own party and some Democratic House members.

Leaders We Deserve, which Hogg co-founded in 2023, announced plans on Tuesday to spend $20 million in safe-blue Democratic primaries against sitting House members by supporting younger opponents. In an interview with POLITICO, Hogg said the group will not back primary challenges in battleground districts because “I want us to win the majority,” nor will it target members solely based on their age.

“We have a culture of seniority politics that has created a litmus test of who deserves to be here,” Hogg said. “We need people, regardless of their age, that are here to fight.”

It’s an unprecedented, and controversial, move from a national officer within the Democratic Party that will enrage some insiders. Democratic Party committees, like the DNC, have traditionally not opposed incumbents in their own party, focusing instead on attacking Republicans, while the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is explicitly set up to protect incumbent members by providing resources, fundraising and strategy.

SQUUEEEEE!!!!

There ought to be a law against having this much fun.

Think about this, too. Those House members who are going to be forced to spend money and time defending a seat they wouldn’t have to normally because of this pukey wastrel’s attempt to outdo AOC for publicity and influence – oh, my goodness.

The rancor, recrimination, and bile flying from all quarters are going to be off the charts.

JUST WHAT THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY NEEDS

We should start an office pool to see how long Hogg lasts as Vice or is forced to crawl back down.

Clock starts now.

Smokes.

I can’t stop grinning.
