Celebrity Big Brother ’embroiled in bullying row’ as housemate ‘who left Christine McGuinness in floods of tears’ is set to enter

Celebrity Big Brother is reportedly embroiled in a bullying row, as a housemate who is said to have left Christine McGuinness in ‘floods of tears’ is set to enter.

Actress and comedian Donna Preston 38, is among the rumoured names who have signed up for the ITV show.

While Donna has featured in several television shows and movies, the upcoming comedy star is notably known for hosting Apocalypse and for a role of a circus compare in 2018’s Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald.

Aside from her role as Den in Corrie, she has featured in Pants On Fire in 2019 and even wrote and co-produced BBC Three’s Comedy Threesomes.

However, ahead of her entrance to the iconic house, it’s being reported that the actress previously left Christine, 37, on the verge of quitting showbiz.

According to The Sun, Christine was left upset after appearing on the show Hey Tracey! in 2019 alongside Donna and Joel Dommett.

Although Christine did not clarify who she was talking about, she lifted the lid on the incident in her autobiography A Beautiful Nightmare.

She wrote that she was ‘bullied’ after the perpertrator allegedly said: ”I’ve got no f***ing idea who you are. I don’t care who you are, I don’t know who you think you are, and I don’t know what you’re even doing here

‘You are really beautiful, aren’t you? But there’s nothing else.’

Christine wrote: ‘I was mortified, embarrassed and humiliated, I felt so s***! But she went on and on. ‘Just f**king stop now!’ my brain screamed.

‘I returned to my hotel shaken and in floods of tears – I’ve never cried so much! I was really upset about it and ever since then it’s always been a focus in my mind.

‘Do I actually want to be on TV? Is this for me? Do I want to stay as a TV personality?’

Christine then explained that her agent ensured the footage wasn’t aired, the directors checked on her afterwards, and the person in question messaged her afterwards to apologise.

She recalled: ‘One of the directors came to check on me afterwards. I guess, as much as I tried to hide my devastation, I was mortified. I rang my husband, sobbing. I was so upset.’

Christine added: ‘I didn’t reply and haven’t spoken to her since. I’m not a bully and I don’t pick on anybody, so I don’t want to associate myself with somebody like that.’

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Christine, Donna and ITV for comment.

In December 2021, Joel Dommett addressed former beauty pageant winner Christine’s bullying claims.

The presenter insisted that the comment by his virtual assistant, played by Donna : ‘was made in jest,’ but expressed sadness that Christine went away from the show unhappy.

He told The Sun: ‘At the end of the day it is a comedy show. It was made in jest. I don’t like anyone to feel like they went away from the show unhappy.

‘No one expressed their concerns to me but I do like to make sure everyone is happy if they are on a show with me.

‘I hope she is ok. I am sure she is fine. I text Paddy afterwards and said that she did really really well which she did.

The popular TV star also added: ‘I would never like anyone to feel like they are sad after a show of mine.’

She added: 'I returned to my hotel shaken and in floods of tears - I've never cried so much! I was really upset about it and ever since then it's always been a focus in my mind'
