Dallas, Texas – Abilene Christian University (ACU) has launched a new online master’s degree in Social Work that offers a distinctive curriculum aimed at preparing students to become compassionate and skilled social work practitioners. This program incorporates spirituality and faith, evidence-based interventions, advanced therapeutic strategies and advocacy.
Guided by a diverse group of social work practitioners and experienced educators, the program prepares graduate students with the necessary skills and strategies to elevate their passion for social service and community engagement to new heights.
“ACU has always prioritized developing servant leaders and social work professionals who recognize the importance of enhancing human well-being and addressing the basic and complex needs of all individuals,” said Dr. Stephen Johnson, chief executive officer of ACU Dallas. “We are thrilled to see how introducing the well-respected social work program to a new online student population will expand our reach and, more importantly, how it will propel our students into careers of service.”
The Master of Science in Social Work program guides students through a series of core curriculum courses in professional leadership, human rights and justice, ethics, and the biological, psychological, social and spiritual aspects of an individual’s well-being. The program is now accepting applications for the first class beginning August 20, 2025. With hopes of attracting and building the next generation of social work practitioners, this degree aims to empower students to make a meaningful impact in the lives of their clients and communities.
