CRICKET icon and Field of Dreams star Freddie Flintoff shares four children with his wife Rachael Wools.
However, the star was forced to put much of his life on hold following a horrifying crash – which is the focus of much of his new series Flintoff.
Who are Freddie Flintoff’s children?
Freddie married Rachael Wools in March 2005, after meeting her just three years earlier.
The couple met at a cricket ground in Birmingham, where Rachael was promoting her events company.
Rachael has supported her husband through his battle with bulimia and his days of drinking and partying, where he would come home late at night and “stinking”.
The couple have four children together and now live in Greater Manchester, near Freddie’s home town of Preston.
Holly Flintoff
Rachael and Freddie’s first child, Holly, was born in 2004.
He made history a year after her birth with England’s Ashes win over Australia in 2005, meaning he was away a lot when she was young.
Rachael said at the time: “Holly is a complete daddy’s girl, and when Andrew’s around, I never get a look-in.
“She misses him when he’s away, but she makes up for it by carrying around a photograph of him – when she has a tea party for her dolls, she puts the picture on a chair, so daddy can be there too.
“He misses the children a lot, and foreign tours aren’t nearly as exotic as they sound.”
Corey Flintoff
Born just over a year after Holly on March 08, 2006, Corey is the second oldest of Freddie and Rachael’s children.
He’s become a cricketer and is a rising star in the sports scene.
Corey was the first of his siblings to speak out about his dad’s horrific car crash in 2022.
The Top Gear star’s son said his dad is “lucky to be alive” following the terrifying high-speed collision.
He added: “
He’s OK. I’m not too sure what happened but he is lucky to be alive.
“It was a pretty nasty crash. It is shocking. We are all shocked but just hope he’s going to be OK.”
Rocky Flintoff
Born on April 7, 2008, Rocky is also a keen cricketer.
He managed a dramatic century for England’s Under-19s at just 16 years old.
His star has continued to rise, with Rocky becoming the youngest player to ever be selected for an England Lions tour.
Preston Flintoff
Freddie was open about choosing to not have any more children after his first three, but has seemingly changed his mind.
In 2016, he told The Sun: “We thought about it.
“I originally wanted five but you have three and that felt like enough. I couldn’t go back to the nappy stage now.”
In December 2019, Freddie announced that Rachael had given birth to their fourth child and third son.
They named him Preston, after Freddie’s hometown.
Freddie opened up about his crash
Freddie’s terrifying car crash will be the focus of his self-titled show on Disney+.
He revealed that he had been travelling at 40mph and simply couldn’t stop the car from moving.
The incident left him with lacerations to his face and several broken ribs, forcing him to take an extended break from show-business.
His mental health declined rapidly, leading him to wish that he had died in the crash.
Things were made worse when his son Preston was scared of his father’s face, which was still healing from his extensive injuries.
Eventually, Freddie managed to recover and blasted the BBC for treating him like a “piece of meat”.
Top Gear was axed after the accident, with fans pointing out that Richard Hammond and Jeremy Clarkson had also suffered terrifying collisions on the programme.
He won £9 million from them in compensation and began his return to TV on Field of Dreams.
The star later appeared on the reboot of 80s game show Bullseye, before landing his Disney+ series.
Flintoff will land on the streaming platform on April 25.
