The Invasion of England Continues Unabated – HotAir

At the moment, British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer’s attention is focused on wrestling with his courage in an effort to burp up some sort of statement on the recent United Kingdom Supreme Court ruling that legally defines the intent of the original Equality Act as the sex one is born is the sex one is, regardless of #feelingz or paperwork.

He and his Labour toadies want nothing to do with this momentous declaration, and have consequently kept publicly mum for all these days later, whilst bitchin’ amongst themselves how to best circumvent the ultimate and damned inconvenient legal ruling.

Starmer’s silence on Supreme Court ruling is deafening

The backlash has begun. It’s happening up and down the country, where thousands of trans activists raged at the weekend against last week’s Supreme Court judgment. In London, they carried placards threatening to kill “terfs”, urinated on a statue of the suffragette, Millicent Fawcett, and daubed it with the slogan “fag rights”. In Sheffield, a small group of women had to be protected by police from an angry mob of trans activists.

But there’s also something going on behind the scenes. Yesterday’s Mail on Sunday has revealed that government ministers secretly condemned the ruling in a WhatsApp group and plotted to challenge it. Labour MPs specifically attacked Baroness Falkner, chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, which is due to issue new guidance this summer on the court’s common-sense ruling that “sex” means biological sex.

Falkner has correctly interpreted the judgment to mean that men who claim to be women cannot use single-sex spaces or compete against female athletes at sporting events. But when a Labour MP in the WhatsApp group described Falkner’s response as “pretty appalling”, Culture minister Sir Chris Bryant replied that he “agreeed [sic]”. A Home Office minister, Dame Angela Eagle, suggested that they should seek a meeting “ASAP” with the “relevant Equality Minister”.

So Starmer can’t speak to the country on the ruling because he and his authoritarian socialist cabal are already working behind the scenes to circumvent the ruling from what’s supposed to be the highest court in the land, the last word on the subject.

Golly Nell, doesn’t that sound familiar?

In the meantime, a problem Starmer did promise to address during his campaign last Spring just keeps paddling across the Channel in ever larger numbers, as opposed to the efforts Labour was expected to make to stop the wee boats packed with warm bodies from landing.

The British government has done nothing to stem the tide, and the illegals traipsing through Northern France to the beaches know it.

It’s estimated that each ‘low-wage migrant’ who makes it successfully to a beachhead in England will cost the British taxpayer at least £500,000 during their lifetime.

At a running average of near 650 A DAY landing right now, that’s an additional £350M every single day added to the burden of the already overtaxed and administratively brutalized British legal resident.

Illegal crossings into England have already surpassed 9000 this year, well ahead of previous totals, and that in spite of a particularly brutal winter.

It is, as one reporter said, a ‘grim state of affairs.’

Starmer’s government has issued some mewling messages about measures to deal with the situation, but the boats and bodies keep coming.

…Earlier this year the government announced a series of measures to tackle people smuggling, including new criminal offence of endangering the lives of others at sea with a jail term of up to five years, expected to come into effect this year.

A Home Office spokesperson said: “We all want to end dangerous small boat crossings, which threaten lives and undermine our border security.”

They said the government’s plan includes “tougher enforcement powers, ramping up returns to their highest levels for more than half a decade and a major crackdown on illegal working to end the false promise of jobs used by gangs to sell spaces on boats”.

Shadow home secretary Chris Philp described the figures as a “national disgrace.”

“This news underlines what we all knew – Keir Starmer has lost control of our borders,” he said, adding: “The gangs are laughing, the boats keep coming, and taxpayers are left to foot the bill”.

The French have been more than content to watch the rubber dinghies shove off from Dunkirk and nearby areas, as it relieves some of their own immigration pressures. But that easy-going attitude on the part of French police may be changing as well, as the migrants are no longer content to sit at the beach and in their so-called ‘jungle encampment’ near the shore, thanks to a joint French-British agreement to crack down on human smuggling via the small, mostly inflatable crafts.

Frustrated migrants have started to plague the Normandy villagers, who once had some sympathy for their plight.

They are wearing out their welcome in the area.

For years, residents of Grand-Fort-Philippe in the north of France lived a life largely undisturbed by migrants who attempted crossings from their local beaches. Relations were cordial, even.

Many in the town would exchange polite bonjours with the men, women and children biding their time in the small seaside town located between Calais and Dunkirk until weather conditions turned in their favour.

The migrants kept largely to themselves, and many locals took pity on the plight of the exiled who were fleeing war – and political, religious and sexual persecution.

But in the past few months, something has shifted. Clashes between migrants and police have erupted, moving from the beaches about a mile out and into residential areas.

The once-peaceful town of about 5,200 people is now host to an “urban guerilla warfare” pitting tear gas and shields against stones and pebbles – and triggering travel warnings for British tourists.

Caught in the middle are the locals, whose property has become collateral damage and whose daily lives have been upended.

“Between us and the migrants, there’s no problem,” said Yvon Agez, a retiree who has lived his whole life in Grand-Fort-Philippe. “They pass by, we exchange hellos, and that’s that.”

He added: “Now that police are preventing them from leaving it’s become war, a war between police and migrants. If the police would just let them cross, there’d be no problem.”

It’s understandable that the residents want things to remain the same because that always meant the illegals left for England.

It’s so funny how these illegal hordes make themselves unwelcome when they are in a location for any length of time.

They didn’t belong there to begin with.

French police, when they finally did respond, were accused of being ‘heavy-handed’, and the result was migrant temper tantrums of rock throwing, vandalism, and now frightened residents who have to escort their children to school because they are worried about attacks.

In the neighbouring town of Gravelines, one family found migrants blowing up a boat in their backyard in the middle of the night to evade police detection.

“Can you imagine waking up in the middle of the night, and finding people in your garden blowing up a boat?” Bertrand Ringot, the mayor of Gravelines, told The Telegraph. “It happened once but I sense that it could become a new tactic.”

Mr Ringot was one of the mayors that called for more security, leading to an extra 35 police and gendarmes to patrol the area.

But the initial result has been chaos.

They broke the seven-hundred mark, arriving last Tuesday.

Twelve boats brought 705 migrants across the Channel and into Dover on Tuesday – the highest daily figure so far this year.

Being a ‘pilot’ of one of these smuggling vessels seems to be a pretty safe bet. The only thing you really have to worry about is the water.

‘…We know at least 119 dinghies have landed on UK shores from France in just the last three months alone…every boat needs someone to steer and run the engine but just five got nicked…’

Well, the British Navy, such as it is, is busy with Houthis.

Keir Starmer and Labour seem to have lots of other priorities at the moment, even though they have noticed one thing that alarms them – capitalism and that dang innerwebs freedom again.

Chinese companies are selling “inflatable boats for refugees” online and advertising them to people smugglers.

An internet search returns dozens of suppliers promoting “high-quality refugee boats” on Alibaba, a major Chinese e-commerce site, and promising fast shipping to Europe.

It is understood the Home Office is in talks with Beijing about cracking down on the sale of such vessels, which are believed to have been used in the Channel.

Over three months, The Telegraph tracked the English-language advertisements posted online by seven suppliers advertising the sale of “refugee boats” and found that none were taken down during that period.

You can BET they’ll be cracking down on that.

You can no longer get knives from Amazon, and pretty soon, no more Chinese rubber boats.

There’s a government on its toes.
