Mickey Rourke repeatedly warned by ITV off camera about behaviour in CBB house leaving show bosses hoping he’d get boot

HOLLYWOOD star Mickey Rourke has been repeatedly warned by ITV about his behaviour in the Celebrity Big Brother house — in scenes not aired.

The wildman actor has been hauled in by show bosses on a number of occasions following his formal Diary Room warning for using homophobic language.

And his antics — including leaving EastEnders favourite Patsy Palmer in tears after insulting her cooking — left some hoping he would be the first housemate evicted.

But he survived the public vote on Friday night, with Tory MP Michael Fabricant the one ousted.

Yesterday, a source told The Sun on Sunday: “The production staff are pulling their hair out with Mickey.

“Some of them had hoped he’d be booted out in the first eviction because there is only so much they can do to protect him.

“He has been called into the Diary Room on multiple occasions because of his language or his behaviour.

“None of this has been shown on camera because it would end up like The Mickey Rourke Show.”

Rourke, 72, who won a Bafta and was Oscar-nominated for 2008 film The Wrestler, first fell foul of his fellow housemates when he directed a offensive slurs at US singer JoJo Siwa, who is a lesbian.

The insider added: “The production team are concerned Mickey is going to push it too far. He’s completely off the scale in the house and he’s not calming down.

“Mickey has also been threatening to break down the fire door to get out. They’re at their wits’ end with his antics.”

Despite avoiding the boot on Friday, Rourke still stirred up controversy on that night’s show by upsetting Patsy in a clash over her culinary skills in front of the other housemates.

He told the 52-year-old soap legend: “What do you know, you can’t cook. Not even a little bit.”

Snapping back, Patsy replied: “I hope that was a sarcastic joke.”

But after initially brushing it off, she later broke down in the Diary Room.

She said: “Maybe it was just a joke and I have to take it like that. I am just going to have to try and rise above it.”

Patsy then added: “It doesn’t mean I have to like him, I guess.”

Meanwhile, The Sun on Sunday can also reveal Mickey caused upset on a movie set in Los Angeles recently by stripping off unexpectedly in front of cast and crew.

A source said: “He went off-script and stripped naked. It was complete improvisation.

“Some of the cast were a bit taken aback and unimpressed, especially some of the women.

“Then it was explained that things like this happen with Mickey because he is a method actor and just goes for it.”

Ex-wife jibe on ‘control’

By Emily Webber

MICKEY Rourke’s former wife Carré Otis said the Hollywood star slowly took control of her life after they married.

The US actress, 56, wed Rourke, 72, in 1992 and two years later he was nicked on suspicion of spousal abuse — but the charges were dropped.

They split in 1998 and Carré, left, said on a 2021 podcast: “I was in a very controlling marriage . . .  I was slowly being isolated from family, from friends, from work.

“You begin to normalise your life because you are in such isolation.”
